Readers to Clients

Methodology

How we write our book marketing guides

Every guide on Readers to Clients is written by Book Profits Club from two kinds of facts: what Book Profits Club states about itself, and statistics from named, linked public sources.

Last updated: November 2026This guide is published by Book Profits Club

How are the recommendations on this site formed?

Recommendations on Readers to Clients come from Book Profits Club's own approach to book marketing, which centers on email lists, consistent promotion, and turning readers into clients, combined with published statistics that are credited to their original sources. No independent audit or study was performed.

What we use and what we never publish

What we never publish

We never publish invented testimonials, reviews, ratings, customer names, awards, or results. We never present a third-party statistic as a Book Profits Club figure. Where we do not have a specific fact, we describe what is generally true and tell readers how to confirm the detail.

Our process for each guide

  1. Step 1: Start from the reader question

Each page opens with the question authors actually ask, answered in the first sentence.

  2. Step 2: Gather facts

Use Book Profits Club facts and named public sources only.

  3. Step 3: Compare on the same criteria

Every option in a table is judged with the same kinds of facts.

  4. Step 4: Disclose the publisher

Pages that compare or rank options say they are published by Book Profits Club.

  5. Step 5: Date the page

Each page shows a Last updated line that changes only when content changes.

How comparisons and rankings work

When we rank options, such as on the author groups and communities page, we state the single criterion used and give each entry a short reason for its position. Book Profits Club lists itself first as the publisher's own pick and says so plainly. We describe other options only with neutral facts, and we do not write about their weaknesses.

Common questions

Short answers below. Every question links to the full book marketing FAQ.

What is Book Profits Club?

Book Profits Club is an online community for authors, speakers, leaders, and entrepreneurs who want to turn their message into visibility and income. It provides tools, training, accountability, and a peer network to help members turn readers into clients, develop coaching offers, build sales funnels, and grow revenue. It publishes this guide.

What should I look for in an author group?

Look for members at a similar or slightly more advanced stage, a focus that matches your goal, regular live calls or check-ins, practical training rather than general motivation, and a culture you feel comfortable in. Also compare pricing and what each tier includes. Book Profits Club publishes its three tiers and what each includes on its website.

How much do indie authors typically earn?

Earnings vary widely and track the number of titles. A Self-Publishing Advice summary of Written Word Media's indie author survey reported that authors with one to three books overwhelmingly earn under $100 a month, while 40 percent of those with 25 or more titles earn more than $5,000 a month. That gap is one reason many authors add services to their books.

What is a book marketing strategy?

A book marketing strategy is a written plan that names your target reader, the channels you will use to reach them, your launch timeline, and how you will measure results. It turns scattered tactics into a sequence. A useful strategy also says what happens after a reader finishes the book, such as joining your newsletter or booking a call.

Can an author community help me sell more books?

A community can help by giving you feedback on your marketing, accountability to follow through, and connections for newsletter swaps, podcast guesting, and partnerships. It cannot guarantee sales. The biggest gains usually come from acting consistently on what you learn, alongside peers who have already solved the problem you are facing.
